We were surprised to see how the Olympus OMD EM1 Mark II did against the Panasonic at 6400 ISO. However, future firmware updates to the GH5 may reverse this result.

Several Videos about the Sony A6500
All the buzz has been about the Panasonic GH5, but let’s not forget that the Sony A6500 is still an interesting option. It’s the rolling shutter that we hate about this camera, but if you can’t fight that off the image is very nice. Perhaps the next iteration will improve upon the rolling shutter and offer 10-bit color like the GH5.
Blackmagic Pocket Camera Versus the Panasonic GH5
Many are wondering if the Panasonic GH5 with its 10-bit color is good enough to forego a RAW camera. The jury is still out, but here is one of the first comparisons we have seen:
Yi 4K+ Action Camera: 4K 60P
You can view the specifications for this camera at the Yi Technology website. It’s nice to see 4K 60P finally show up in an action camera and we’re glad it’s Yi’s as they’ve had reasonable and value pricing in the past.
The sensor is the SONY IMX377 1/2.3” and will reportedly feature 4K 60FPS at 120Mbit.
Olympus OMD E-M1 Mark II Versus the Sony A6500 and Panasonic G85
The G85 continues to show its value and the A6500 image looks good (when not invoking rolling shutter) but the E-M1 Mark II doesn’t look as good in this video. It’s still a useable video camera however.
Zhiyun Crane Gimbal + Panasonic G85
The Zhiyun-Tech Crazne Gimbal is a $650 Gimbal that supports up to 2.65lbs. It clearly does quite well with the Panasonic G85. The Panasonic GH5 is a heavier camera however and we remain unsure about the best affordable gimbal for it.
Beautiful Panasonic GH5 Footage
As more and more footage rolls in it becomes clear this camera can be made to shine in the right hands. Maybe in a year Sony or someone else will release a competing product that beats it, but at a much higher price. The AF remains my biggest question but it’s obviously better than the GH4 in that regards.
Panasonic GH5 Roundup
Well, there’s been lots of new, interesting material released recently about the Panasonic GH5. The VLog footage exceeded our expectations for dynamic range which was nice.

Short Video Shot on the Panasonic GH5
This video gives us another glimpse into the potential of the GH5. For the price of the camera we have nothing to complain about. Do note that this is in 4:2:0.
