The internet was buzzing recently with B&H stating that they would take pre-orders for the Panasonic GH5 starting January 4, 2017. B&H has since removed this statement. Our one source we trust on the subject is saying that Panasonic is really hoping for quarter one of 2017 for the GH5 to be released. That would be nice.

More Rolls in on the Olympus E-M1 Mark II
We have been a bit hard on this camera. It’s nice to see Olympus up its video game. We do except the GH5 to be out in only a matter of months so for most people it would be worth the wait to see what it offers. Several videos for your consideration:
Panasonic G85 Image Stabilization Issues in the Cold?
Two more videos about the Panasonic G85, including one that showed a possible issue after an hour in -8C weather. After an hour the IBIS gets shaky, almost as if image stabilization was turned off.

We don’t find this camera suitable for handheld use but we still like the image that comes from it locked down.
Olympus E-M1 Mark II for Video?
The video quality on the Olympus E-M1 Mark II isn’t as good as we hoped it would be, despite having great image stabilization. Unless you’re looking for a hybrid camera and have lots of Olympus lenses, you probably will want to see what the GH5 offers on the video side.
